Resources

Below are a list of resources that I have used personally and found helpful.

Ditch That Textbook, Miller
-Food for thought and resources to help you differentiate, innovate, use technology, facilitate
     creativity and hands-on learning.

Teaching With Poverty in Mind, Jensen
-Addresses the effect that poverty has on the brain's development, and ways teachers can help
      students in poverty succeed.

The Daily 5, Boushey and Moser
-Step by step instructions for implementing Daily 5 as a classroom management strategy that
helps you teach reading and writing strategies, meet with small groups and provide focused
individual instruction.  The second addition also addresses Math Daily 3, a similar management
strategy for Math, used in the same way.

The Daily CAFE, Boushey and Moser
-The sister book (no pun intended) to The Daily 5, helps you learn how to use the CAFE menu
board, keep track of student progress, individualize strategies and so much more.

The Growth Mindset Coach, Brock & Hundley
-Helping students develop a growth mindset is the core of this book, while acting as a workbook
for teachers to plan and reflect on their own mindset and strategies and activities used.

Writing Power, Gear
-This book offers an easy to follow procedure for teaching writing to students, complete with
lesson plans and anchor book suggestions.
